Now that I’ve laid the foundation for the Subsumption Series blog, it’s time to go narrower and deeper (that’s what she said) on the content. That doesn’t negate the possibility of more universe-related posts in the future, like blogs about other characters (I’m slowly adding persona sheets to all the character blogs, identical to what I created for Velia and Virgil). Immediately after the last blog about secondary characters, I received a few (polite but insistent) emails pointing out that while Velia Wolf and Virgil Wolff may be secondary characters in Subsumption, they’re both protagonists in Coverted (with Velia making an important appearance in Disclosure too). My mistake is an example of the phenomenon known as “the curse of knowledge,” which occurs when one person (in this case, me) takes for granted that other people don’t have access to the same background information. A Sample of Secondary Characters

This week will start the first of a multi-part dive into the lesser featured, but incredibly important, characters of the Subsumption Series. While each of these nine individuals plays a supporting role to Marcus, many will become primary characters throughout the rest of the series.
